BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Havana, Cuba in 1956. Shortly after the Castro Revolution in 1959,
his family emigrated to Puerto Rico where he lived until completing his high
school studies at Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola in 1975. He attended Loyola
University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and received his Bachelors in Business
Administration in August of 1978, with concentration in finance and honors,
"cum laude". Subsequently, he studied law at Loyola University School of Law
in New Orleans, Louisiana, and received his juris doctor degree in May of
1981. While at law school, he received the award for the outstanding student
in the field of corporate law. Since August of 1981, he has worked at the law
firm of Adams and Reese , LLP and is presently a partner with that firm. Most
of his practice has been dedicated to commercial litigation and general
corporate work. At present he is the Leader of the International Practice
Team of the law firm. He is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana,
the District of Columbia, State of Texas and the Supreme Court of the United
States. He is also a Notary Public for the State of Louisiana. Mr. Prez is
very active in various professional associations and he is the past President
of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Louisiana, Inc. Additionally, he is a
member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association,
American Bar Association, and Inter-American Bar Association. He has
received many awards, including Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who Among
Hispanic Americans, Who's Who Among Rising Young Americans, Who's Who of
Emerging Leaders in America, and, in 1989 was selected the Outstanding
Hispanic Lawyer in the City of New Orleans. He has participated as a speaker
in several seminars and conferences in the United States and in other
countries. He is also a frequent speaker at Tulane University School of Law
and Loyola University School of Law.
